We care for our cars so that they may run well beyond 200k mi. Choosing the right shop is a challenge and often a gamble. I was in luck, I was fortunate to have made the right choice with Japanese Auto Center of Torrance. My twenty-something 350Z had a case of the infamous P0300 code - Random Misfires. The year before, I had spent $000 (other shop) to replace ignition coils and spark plugs, along with a number of sensors. So when JAC called to tell me my Z was ready for pick-up and said no more, I thought it unusual that I was not asked to authorize a list of required an/or recommended services. When I got to the shop, I was handed my key with a smile and the words your Z runs great and the brakes are in good condition as well. I scanned the invoice for clues. It read, "reconnected lose connection at the ignition coil, reset engine control system, road tested car - no more misfires". I scanned for a charge and found none - $0.00. What I owe Japanese Auto Center (Lars and Eve) is a debt of gratitude. You may not walk away from Japanese Auto Center with an invoice of $0.00, but you can expect great service, integrity, and your car running like a champ.
